I have the most beautiful green grass. Luscious looking, soft to the toes… and all over my walkway, where it’s not supposed to be.

My front yard is green, too. Only it’s the dull green of crabgrass and other weeds. I don’t think there’s a single blade of real grass in the entire yard.

There’s probably a lesson to be learned here, if only I can figure out what it is. Look to the unexpected places for the joy in life? Enjoy the miracle of natural beauty, no matter where you find it? Or the same lesson I’ve been learning over and over all my life, that nothing good happens without hard work?

Or the biggest one of all–the one I keep forgetting: God has a great sense of humor.
