About Me

- I'm a pre-published contemporary romance writer who can't tell a joke without fumbling the punch line. The word 'lollygag' makes me laugh. My favorite thing is listening to my family tell the same stories we've all heard a thousand times, then laughing like they're brand new.

All Done Mucking About…
Yeah. I changed the look of this thing again. I know — probably not very smart in terms of blog recognition, but I’m finally happy with it. (As happy as a perfectionist can be, that is.) I was never comfortable with the … Continue reading

Pitch and Hurl
‘Pitch’ is a great action verb–one that implies such force and movement. But to a writer, a pitch is a kind of verbal query, delivered in person. Contemplating having to deliver a real pitch in front of a real agent or … Continue reading

True(ly) Blood(y)
I almost had to stop watching True Blood in the middle of a season. (I’m too cheap to pay for HBO, so I have to watch seasons as they come out on Netflix.) Season 3 was pretty intense–it seemed like some … Continue reading
Writing a Non-Sucky Synopsis
Cruising through Twitter yesterday led me to a great blog post by Roni Loren called “The (Not So) Dreaded Synopsis – 5 Tips To Set You Free.” As soon as I read “I know I’m not the only one who … Continue reading

Media Blitz
Okay, this social media stuff is getting out of hand. I’m on Twitter now. It must be the apocalypse. I’ve had enough of the stalling, though. I’ve set a goal to finish editing my synopsis down to one page by … Continue reading
Procrastination Pays
Procrastination can pay off. I’m still avoiding any real work on my manuscript, which allows me time to stumble across other gems, such as “Conduct Happiness.” Some of the designs on this fun site made me laugh my butt off. There’s even a … Continue reading
